Sylvia Turner is a Community Partner with the Mississippi Public Health Institute as part of the University of Mississippi Medical Center project, “A Proposal to Establish the Mississippi Violence Injury Prevention (VIP) Program” and is member of the Community Engagement Workgroup.

Sylvia Turner, a native Mississippian, serves as a Program Manager for the Congregational Recovery Outreach Program with Mississippi Public Health Institute working with churches and faith based organizations on substance use disorders and mental illness. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a master of Community College, and is a certified Educational Consultant with over 25 years of experience in education.
