Dr. James Selig, PhD, is a Co-Investigator on “The HVIP+ Community Model: A Community Violence Prevention Program in a Southern State” project. With the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He provides statistical support and quantitative data analysis expertise to this project, as well as consultation regarding the design and implementation of data management and entry systems. He serves on the Data and Methods workgroup.

Dr. Selig is a tenured professor in the College of Public Health Department of Biostatistics and is the Senior Director of Biostatistics for the Office of Community Health and Research at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Selig’s expertise is in the application of statistical and research methods, and he plays a key collaborative role in multiple research projects across UAMS. Dr. Selig has served as the lead biostatistician for multiple NIH-funded centers, including the Arkansas Prevention Research Center for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction (U48); the Arkansas Center for Health Disparities (U54); and the Center for Research, Health, and Social Justice (P50), and was a member of the biostatistics core for the Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention (P20). He is the lead biostatistician for research projects funded by NIH, PCORI, USDA, HRSA, and private foundations including clinical trial, observational, and survey research. Dr. Selig has served as a methodology mentor to junior faculty and a statistical methods mentor on funded K01 and K23 grants. He has experience working with investigators at all career stages to develop sound research designs, rigorous analysis plans, and highly competitive grant applications.
