In this episode, we discuss the formation of this network with Dr. Dara Blachman-Demner* and Dr. Patrick Carter. We cover how the vision behind the network aims to build capacity in the field of community-level firearm violence prevention through a coordinated network that aims to be greater than the sum of its parts.
* Dr. Dara Blachman-Demner is no longer at the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) or serving as the lead project scientist for the CFVP network, though she remains invested in the network’s success. Since the recording of this podcast, she has moved to a Program Director position at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) where she continues to support NIH community engaged research efforts through her leadership in the Community Partnerships to Advance Science for Society (ComPASS) program and in NINR’s strategic imperative on firearm injury prevention research.
