Latanya Monroe is a Case Manager for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s project, “Launching the Houston-HVIP: Developing and Evaluating a Hospital-Based Intervention to Reduce Recurrent Violence.” With a focus on trauma-informed care, community collaboration, and long-term support, she works to reduce violence, recidivism, and health disparities among at-risk populations.
With a Master of Social Work and extensive experience in case management, behavioral health, and program development, Latanya has dedicated her career to serving marginalized communities. She has worked in hospital-based settings, family protective services, domestic violence shelters, anti-human trafficking organizations, and community outreach initiatives, providing critical interventions to individuals impacted by violence.
In her role, Latanya implements structured follow-ups, coaching calls, and resource navigation to empower clients with the tools needed for lasting change. Her work integrates mental health support, financial literacy education, trauma-informed care, and community-based resources, ensuring a holistic approach to violence prevention and recovery.
Committed to advocacy and empowerment, Latanya strives to bridge the gap between healthcare, social services, and community support systems to create sustainable solutions for individuals and families affected by violence.
