Dr. Kao is Professor and Chief of the Division of Acute Care Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She is co-founder and co-director of the Center for Surgical Trials and Evidence-based Practice (C-STEP). Her research focuses on comparative effectiveness trials and dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices.
