Sydney Baker serves as the Research Program Manager for “The HVIP+ Community Model: A Community Violence Prevention Program in a Southern State.” Her responsibilities include managing the day-to-day activities of the study.
Sydney earned her MPH with a concentration in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2022 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Arkansas State University in 2020.
Since October of 2021, Sydney has worked on a multitude of community-based, community-focused, and community-led research studies ranging in topics from food insecurity, tobacco cessation, cancer prevention, and now violence prevention. As an Arkansas native, she is particularly passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of those in the communities around her. She is passionate about community engaged and community-led research and hopes to continue working to make a difference through public health research.
