Dr. Yan Wang is a Co-Investigator for the George Washington University “Changing the Narrative on Firearms Violence” project and a member of the Data and Methods Workgroup.

Dr. Wang is an associate professor at the Department of Prevention and Community Health, Milken Institute of Public Health, George Washington University. Dr. Wang’s research has two focuses. One is within the field of epidemiology of and prevention intervention on risky health problems, e.g. substance use, behavioral problems, unintentional injuries, and firearm violence. The other is the application of advanced statistical methodology to research related to the problems, including Multi-Level modeling, Insensitive Longitudinal Models, and Structural Equation Modeling (e.g. Latent Class Model, Factor Analysis, Cross-Lagged Panel Analysis, and Mediation analyses), and causal inference (e.g. Propensity Score Analysis, Complier-Average Causal Effect model, Difference in Difference approach and Interrupted Time Series Analysis). She is a PI for an R03 project on the prevention intervention of unintentional injuries among toddlers.
